Rasa Bugavičūte-Pēce

Rasa Bugavičute-Pēce is a Latvian playwright and author. Her original plays, adaptations, and librettos have been staged at major state and independent theatres across Latvia, including the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, as well as internationally. She has written screenplays for films, television series, radio productions, concerts, and large-scale performances.

Rasa is the author of three books: My Name is Klimpa and I Like Everything (2016), The Boy Who Saw in the Dark (2019), and Puksītis (co-authored with Sandis Pēcis, 2023). The book The Boy Who Saw in the Dark has received multiple awards and been translated in 7 languages. It is also adapted into a play.

Since 2015, Rasa has served as the resident playwright at Liepāja Theatre and has taught the fundamentals of playwriting at Liepāja University since 2011. She is a recipient of multiple awards for her contributions to literature and theatre.
