Promotion of the book about the notebook with poetry from Auschwitz

Beskrivning

The poems were documented and taken to Sweden by Bozena Janina Zdunek (née Musiewicz; 1918-2015), who came to Sweden after the liberation of the concentration camps through Count Folke Bernadotte’s and the Swedish Red Cross’s White Buses campaign. She was political prisoner no. 46,454 in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp 1943-06-24-1944-08-30 and no. 62107 in the Ravensbrück concentration camp, until 1945-04-25. Usually the prisoners could not write the the poems down because it could lead to the death penalty, but they could recite them to eachother. Bozena Janina Zdunek knew them all by heart. They were very meaningful to her.
