Yair Qedar

Yair Qedar is a prominent Israeli documentary filmmaker, social activist, and former journalist. Known for his noteworthy project titled “The Hebrews,” Qedar has dedicated himself to chronicling the lives of Jewish and Israeli figures who have made significant contributions to the modern Hebrew literary canon. His extensive body of work consists of 19 feature-length documentaries, all of which have premiered at prestigious film festivals and garnered the director over 20 prestigious awards. Qedar’s commitment to social causes extends beyond filmmaking, as he is also a leading LGBTQ activist. In addition to creating several groundbreaking queer films, he played a pivotal role in establishing the first Israeli LGBTQ newspaper.
