Modise Sekgothe

Modise Sekgothe is a Johannesburg baseinclude an award-winning multimedia collaborative project called Metropolar, which is a marriage of poetry, music and animation in a live performance context, exploring the contrasting realities of life in the Johannesburg CBD.

Also worth noting, is another award-winning multimedia project called Meera Me, an experimental piece that merges documentary and live performance through music and spoken word poetry to explore the multi-layered issues of romantic love and intimate relationship. Some of these projects have found expression in audio form through the DiPOKO tsa DIPOKO EP and the Meera Me album.

Textually, several works have been published in Home Is Where The Mic Is, a performance poetry anthology by Botsotso Publishers. As one part of Children of the Wind, which is a duo formed with guitarist, poet and vocalist Itai Hakim, he is currently working on an album for release later on in the year, as well as a solo album that is to be released sooner.
