Mandla Langa

Mandla Langa grew up in Durban. He went into exile in 1976 and lived in Botswana, Angola, Zambia, Hungary and the United Kingdom. Apart from the libretto of Milestones, with music by Hugh Masekela, he is has written several novels, including The Lost Colours of the Chameleon, which won the 2009 Commonwealth Prize African Region, as well as Nelson Mandela’s posthumous memoir, Dare Not Linger. His latest novel, The Lost Language of the Soul, was published in 2021 to wide critical acclaim.
