Författarsamtal: Everything is a Deathly Flower

Beskrivning

Maneo Mohale is an arts journalist, writer, editor and a major LGBTQI advocate, who has written for prominent publications and has also created her own platform, The Talon.
Maneo uses her extraordinary talent to create a safe space for the LGBTQI community and black women; lending them a voice in order to share their own stories and experiences.
On Instagram – this is what she wrote about her self explored book "Everything Is a Deathly Flower.
"In the winter of my 21st year, something awful happened to me. And I survived. ✨
I’m always thinking about survival. About how, at 21, I joined a long and ever-growing line of survivors of sexual assault. How I am a product of a complex ancestral line of Black people who have survived and continue to survive. How I hold, and am held by trans and queer communities that constantly redefine what it means to be resilient, in the maw of empire, in the burning mouth of a world that never intended for us to survive, or to experience joy, beauty, pleasure, power & love. ✨
This book is a long love letter to survival. Full of rage and contradiction. Full of quiet questions. Full of joy, harm, history, and silence. ✨
To hold it in my hands, as a breathing thing, is miraculous. I can’t wait for you to meet this little one. 🌻"
